Notice to all Students-at-Law seeking employment in a law practice.
It may be a criminal offence if a law graduate or student who has been convicted or found guilty of, or has pleaded guilty to an indictable offence (whether or not it is dealt with summarily and whether or not a conviction is recorded) seeks employment in a law practice, having failed to first inform the law practice of the conviction or finding. Students-at-law should familiarise themselves with sections 4, 7, 11 and 17 of the Legal Profession Act 2004. If you require further information or advice in relation to these provisions, you should contact the Law Society or Bar Association or seek independent legal advice.
