Invitation to female law students in their final year.
It has recently come to the Board's attention that the marks issued to Torts students were incorrect. We have now corrected the error and are in the process of contacting all those students whose mark has changed from a Fail to a Pass. All marks have increased as a result of the correction. The scripts of those students who now have a mark of between 40 - 49 have been sent to the Revising Examiner for review. New exam results letters will be posted out to all students as soon as the revision process has been completed. Please note the prize winner and students with the top five marks have NOT changed as a result of the correction. We sincerely apologise to affected students.
Many students will be aware that the LEC removed its website forums for a time last semester after widespread irregularities in postings were discovered. One of the areas of concern was the repeated use of several names, and qualifications and expertise, in connection with offers to tutor students in a range of subjects. Where the names used are those of identifiable people, it is apparent that they, and the person under whose name the postings were made, have no knowledge of these postings and that several aspects of the postings are fictitious. We have been in contact with several students who have been affected, but there may be others who have provided information in response to these postings, or paid money as a result of expressing interest. We wish to make sure that no students have been disadvantaged by these activities. If, in response to one of these web forum postings, you have provided information, paid money, sent assignments to an email address, or received tutoring services, we would appreciate your contacting us. We would also appreciate hearing from you if you have been asked to make postings in relation to tutoring services. If you have any concerns at all about these matters, please feel free to contact us.
